Sleeve valves can be classified into two types according to the throttling window form: Large-window type and small-hole (jet type). The latter has the function of reducing noise and resonance, and can be further improved into specialized low-noise valves. Through sleeve design, valves with anti-cavitation, noise reduction, or special Cv values can also be achieved.
The flow characteristics of sleeve valves are mainly of three types: equal percentage, linear, and quick-opening, achieved by changing the shape or distribution of the orifices on the sleeve.
The flow capacity (Cv value) of a sleeve valve is mainly related to the shape, number, and size of the orifices on the sleeve, as well as the valve seat diameter.
