Nitrogen Venting Valve

Yuhong nitrogen venting valves bleed off excess gas pressure from storage tanks and closed systems, and run alongside blanketing valves, breather valves, and the rest of the tank protection set. They hold tank pressure in a safe band and cut the overpressure risk during filling, heating, or gas expansion.

Description

Shandong Yuhong Valve Co., Ltd. is one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of nitrogen venting valve in China. We have world-leading production equipment and strong manufacturing capabilities. Welcome to wholesale bulk high-grade nitrogen venting valve from our factory.

A nitrogen venting valve is a relief and pressure-control valve for tank systems. When pressure climbs above setpoint it cracks open and vents gas; when pressure drops back it shuts.

It lives in the blanketing loop: the blanketing valve feeds nitrogen when pressure falls, the venting valve bleeds it when pressure rises - opposite directions, same tank. One keeps vacuum and air out, the other keeps overpressure off.

Tank pressure moves for plenty of reasons: liquid fill pushes vapor up, sun and ambient heat warm the shell, chemical vapor accumulates, or the blanketing valve feeds too fast when it's mistuned. Without a safe release path, that's a safety problem. So we build these for stable pressure management on chemical, solvent, oil, pharma, and tank-farm systems, and size them off working pressure, vent capacity, medium, nitrogen pressure, and the safety requirement. Before production we read the set pressure, tank volume, medium, gas flow, connection size, and material, then recommend structure and sealing.

Product Features

Automatic Tank Pressure Release

Opens above set pressure, vents nitrogen, air, or process vapor, closes once it's back. That one move keeps excess pressure off the tank and removes the need to hand-vent during normal operation.

Works with Nitrogen Blanketing Systems

A tank protection system needs both supply and vent. Run only one and the loop won't hold. We'll help you check that the blanketing and venting setpoints actually match.

Low-Pressure Sensitive Response

Venting pressure runs low and the valve has to respond gently and repeatably. Late opening lets pressure overshoot; poor closing wastes nitrogen. We hold the spring force, diaphragm, seat, and set range so the response stays stable, not rough.

Material Selection for Stored Media

The valve often doesn't touch liquid, but it does see vapor - solvent, acid gas, oil, corrosive - and that's easy to miss. We review the medium before picking material: stainless, PTFE, FKM, EPDM, or whatever the vapor calls for.

Product Advantages For Buyers

Tank farm operators

Fewer overpressure events from filling, heating, expansion, or blanketing swing; and less nitrogen burned when the setpoint's right.

Chemical & solvent storage

Part of a safer tank package, paired with breathers, flame arresters, gauges, blanketing valves.

Distributors & contractors

Easy add-on sale. A blanketing-valve customer usually needs a vent too; supplying both completes the package.

Plant users

Easier pressure management and less manual venting.

Application Fields

Chemical storage

Vents excess nitrogen or vapor through filling and temperature swings.

Solvent tanks

Pairs with blanketing to bleed pressure while keeping air contact down.

Oil & fuel

Supports pressure balance and safe gas release.

Pharma & fine chemical

Holds tank pressure clean and controlled.

Tank farms

Part of the full safety set with blanketing, vent, flame arrester, instruments.

Process vessels & small closed systems

Stops pressure rise from gas expansion or supply fluctuation.

Production And Inspection

We check body, trim, spring, diaphragm, seat, and seals as they're built. Set pressure matches the order, and the valve opens and closes smoothly. Sealing faces are verified before assembly; the diaphragm or actuator has to answer at low pressure - a bad diaphragm or wrong spring means unstable pressure or wasted gas. Each valve is tested for pressure response, seat leakage, shell pressure, and appearance before shipment. Project orders ship with drawings, material certs, set-pressure data, inspection photos, pack shots. Built under ISO 9001, to ASME B16.34 / B16.5, GB, or your project standard.

Installation And Use Notes

Mount it to the tank layout and flow-direction mark. Route the vent outlet to a safe discharge or recovery point per plant rules.

The sense point has to read real tank pressure. Dirt, condensate, or crystallized vapor blocking the connection and the valve answers wrong.

Flammable vapor service may need a flame arrester or other safety device - the project engineer signs off on the full system.

Confirm set pressure at commissioning and watch tank pressure, venting action, and sealing. If it vents constantly, check blanketing pressure, vent setpoint, and operation together.

Packaging And Shipping

Small sizes in cartons, larger in export wooden cases. Flange faces and threaded ends capped, loose items packed separately and labeled. Sea freight gets moisture-proof wrap, and the case shows model, size, set pressure, order number, and your shipping mark. Pack photos go out before shipment so you can confirm against the PO and avoid receiving mistakes.

Purchase Notes for Tank Projects

Don't size this by connection alone - tank pressure range and vent demand run the call. Confirm tank volume, medium, max fill rate, nitrogen supply pressure, normal blanketing pressure, vent set pressure, and discharge requirement; those set size and setpoint. Keep vent setpoint clear of the blanketing pressure: too close and you burn nitrogen, too high and the tank carries needless pressure. We'll check the basic supply/vent match for you - a tank sketch or system diagram helps a lot.

FAQ

Q1: What does a nitrogen venting valve do?

Releases excess gas pressure from a tank or closed system. Opens above setpoint, closes when pressure returns to normal.

Q2: Same as a blanketing valve?

No. Blanketing feeds nitrogen when pressure drops; venting bleeds it when pressure rises. They work as a pair in one system.

Q3: Why vent if you already blanket?

Blanketing only controls supply. The tank still needs a release path for filling, heating, expansion, or fluctuation.

Q4: Solvent tanks?

Yes, for many. Check sealing and body material, discharge route, and flame protection before we build.

Q5: What causes frequent venting?

High nitrogen supply pressure, wrong setpoint, fast fill, temperature swing, seat leak, or poor match with the blanketing valve.

Q6: Does the vent outlet need special treatment?

Depends on the vapor and site rules. Some vent to a safe area; some need recovery, treatment, or flame protection. The project engineer sets the discharge plan.

Q7: What for a quote?

Tank volume, medium, normal tank pressure, vent set pressure, nitrogen supply pressure, connection size, material, and whether you need a flame arrester.

Q8: Which spares?

Diaphragm, spring, seat, gasket, O-ring, sealing parts. Tank farms should keep sealing spares to cut downtime.

Why Choose Yuhong Valve

Venting is a small function with system-wide safety weight: open too easy and nitrogen's wasted, open too late and pressure overshoots. We check both before we build. Our team reads blanketing pressure, venting pressure, medium, and layout together so the two valves don't fight each other. Distributors like it as part of a tank protection package alongside blanketing valves, breathers, flame arresters, gauges, shut-offs. You get drawings, test reports, set-pressure records, photos, and order docs, and repeat orders keep the same setting, material, and connections. For safer tank pressure and less nitrogen burned, it's the practical call.
